Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day (yesterday)!

Mothers Day was bitter sweet this year being that my mothers 7 year passing and mothers day were on the same day. I love her and miss her dearly.

For Mothers Day Halle got me a watch and Michael got me a cookbook. I was impressed because Kev said that it was Michaels own idea to get me a cookbook and he even picked it out. (It had a big cupcake on the front and was all treat recipes... he knows me well or maybe it was for selfish reasons wanting me to make him treats... either way I love it!) Plus they also gave me a Nook... I'm so excited to get reading on it.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mothers Day!

Kiddys update

Halle Joy
age: 13 months

likes:

  • Momma to hold her all the time (and I mean ALL the time)

  • to watchSuper Why and World Word (Michael was never interested in tv at this age but Halle gets so excited when her favs are on)

  • climbing on the rocking chair. We have a little rocking chair that used to be my mothers when she was little and Halle gets on it and off it like 100 times a day. And she acts pretty bomb while doing it. She is actually currently doing it right now and clapping every time she gets up.

  • bananas. She could eat them for every meal.

  • being naked. When we change her diaper she loves to escape in the nude. The problem is there has been multiple times she decides to pee during her adventure. So I have to limit her escaping enjoyment to like 1 min tops.

  • playing the point game with grandpa. She loves her grandpa and every time she sees him she has to be with him and the minute she gets in his arms she starts pointing. They walk around the whole house pointing out things. She loves it.

  • playing with Grandma. Another person she loves and the minute she sees her has to go hang out with her.

dislikes:

  • anything on her head. She used to be good and keep her headbands on all the time and only take them off when in her carseat. Now she thinks shes funny taking them off all the time and throwing them.

  • being left alone. I can't even walk from the family room to the kitchen to get something without her getting upset.

  • getting her diaper changed or getting dressed. You'd think having to get your butt changed multiple times a day you'd get over it. Sometimes I just want to play dressup with my little girl and she hates getting dressed so bad that its no fun.

stats:

  • last weigh in she was 17 lbs 5 oz. She pretty much is in not on the charts 0%. She's just a little runt. I can't remember her height I'll have to look it up.

  • she still just has 2 teeth. well actually just about a week ago one side one on the top broke through. Thats going to be weird... hopefully the middle ones are coming soon or I'm going to have vampire baby.

  • still isn't quite walking yet. She's been walking around furniture for a long time but she gets to excited and nervous to venture off on her own. Though the other day when we weren't paying attention all of a sudden she started walking towards Kev. She took like 4 or 5 steps. The problem is we can't work with her because when you try to help her or pay attention she gets too excited so she pretty much has to do it when she thinks no one is watching.

  • she is still working extremely slow on growing hair. She has what I call pigs tail in the back she has a peice that curls just like a pigs tail. Its really cute and gives me hope that she will have a little curl to her hair.

words:

  • momma

  • dada

  • hot dog (another one of her favorite shows in Mickey Mouse clubhouse and she loves the Hot dog dance and the other day when my sis was babysitting she started saying haa daa during the song... she doesn't do it all the time but I've heard it a few times)

  • her uh-oh is my favorite she just goes uhhhhh (she sounds exactly like the little yellow fluffy character Katie on Horton hears a Who)
Michael (aka batman) age 4

  • is really into superheros these days. Just today I was asked why when he was a baby didn't I name him Baby Batman. hum.... thats a very good question Michael... it definetly was top of our list.

  • loves to read books. we frequent the library at least twice a week and we get in trouble because we max out mine and Kevs library card with our stash.

  • loving preschool and frequently talks about how he can't wait to turn 5 so he can go to kindergarten (shhhh don't tell him he'll actually be practically 6 by the time he goes)

  • he's such a sweet boy daily I get from him "Mom I have a suprise for you" and I say "what is it" and then he gives me a big hug. Cute boy!

  • he is obsessed with the game Lego Batman (ok I admit I am as well)

  • currently on a T-ball team and enjoys it.

  • got his first trophy from going to a start smart sports program and is so proud of that thing he cleared off a whole book shelf for it to be displayed on. I also caught him admiring himself with it in the mirror.

Anyways I don't know why it keeps spacing everything so much. This post is kindof struggling. But just wanted to update on the kids. (mainly for myself for journaling purposes...I'm so bad) Love my munchkins!

Good day!

Halle's 1!

I can't believe my baby turned one yesterday! Where did the year go? Pretty pathetic that my last blog was her baby blessing... I'm a horrible blogger I admit it! :) Anyways I just wanted to post Halle's cute little invite. (and sadly yes the best pic I could get of her was munching on goldfish) It was either the goldfish one or her bawling her eyes out. This girl hates the camera... once she sees it out she heads for the hills and doesn't look back. Anyways I'll actually do a post with her bday party pics when I don't have a poopy baby crawling all over me :) Good day!

Long time no see...

Been a while eh? Thats what happens when you don't have the internet at your home! O'well what can you do? (oh wait...I could get the internet....hummm..... thats a grand idea) Anyways just a brief pic update...

Halle was blessed on July 4th....this is her photo op by yours truly (don't make fun...I tried) I do have some extremely cute professional ones to post soon! ps. her dress is the same one I was blessed in...thank goodness I went through one of my Moms closets and found it. I had forgotten she saved it.

pic taken yesterday....we pulled out this toy and she was all sorts of lovin it! Don't you just want to eat her...her floppy ears and bald head and those rolly polly legs....love that girl! ps. she's going to be 4 months in 2 days...time flies!

we can't forget this little guy! He's still the biggest character ever and keeps us laughing (in fact just the other day I got a "Mom... I love you more than pooping!" ahhhh ain't that sweet!)

Well until next time.....

Some randoms

Ok I had to post my last pregnancy pic...(ok so its the only one I've posted) super not cute pic but can a belly possible stick out any more than this?... honestly it looks photo shopped.

anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little one

and here she is... doesn't she look pleased :)

Our romantic dinner for 2 at the hospital... I don't know if I was just starving or what but I actually enjoyed my hospital food. It wasn't too shabby. ps. the rolls they served with this meal were delicious...I've got to find out where they came from

Michael of course jumped in for the dessert

Michael was so excited to take Baby sister and I home... she's dressed and ready to go

Her cute little outfit we brought her home in.

if you are wondering if she always has her tongue out...the answer is yes... she honestly always has it sticking out even in her ultrasound pics you could see her little tongue sticking out! (at least we know we have the right baby;))

Her first official bath with her big brother... love this pic she's cross eyed and all! Michael loves taking a bath with her and requests one daily
Michael loves his baby sister! He honestly is so good with her, always wants to hold her and I'll often hear him saying to her "baby sister you look beautiful"

This is the only good thing that came out of going to Wheeler Farm for the easter egg hunt...honestly it was the biggest joke! Never again will I go...never never never! But I did score this pic of Michael with the (creepy) Easter bunny. Shockingly Michael just went over and let the bunny pic him up and he sat by him so I could take a pic. If you know Michael that is quite impressive. I love how they are looking at each other lovingly.

Love moments like these! My cute 3 all snoozing!

Good News!

1- Carpet was installed yesterday! Woot Woot! If you don't recall we have been living in our family room for 4 months with getting everything remodeled and our carpet was our last big thing that needed to be done so we could move into our rooms. Now its complete and absolutely beautiful and I slept in my room last night (is it odd it was weird to have a room) and Michael slept in his own room all by himself. It was soooooo unbelieveably nice! Michael and I set up his play room last night and its pretty awesome... he has a family room in it, a kitchen, grocery store, craft room, and ball room. He's a pretty funny dude.

2- Its official.... baby will be born next wed. A Saint Pattys baby!! That is unless she decides to make an appearance sooner. But for now I'm scheduled to be induced next wed. which I wasn't sure I wanted to do...but now think its best. I'm game for her coming whenever now... all I wanted was to have carpet before she came and that is in so now she is welcome any day! :) We are super excited and a little on the nervous side! (is it weird that we are both more nervous for the second one?)

ps. Michael has a baby sister in his tummy too.... he tells us to feel his baby sister (and when you do he pushes his tummy in and out...its hilarious)

Bye Bailey...We love you!

Our beloved Bailey passed away today. :( She was in really sad shape these days could hardly walk and struggled getting around on my fams tile floor. She was such a young pup at heart but her aged body couldn't handle it anymore. She will be missed!

1st
Ok here's a sneak peek of one of our many projects going on at our humble abode...
The master shower before.......

I apologize if you these pics make you want to barf... actually these pics don't do the nastiness justice... the shower was all sorts of nasty mildewagey poopiness....we pretty much stood on our tippy toes for the times we used it before it was destroyed

Ta da.... the aftermath....

Don't you just want to strip down and jump in it? Come on I know you do?

if you notice the shower is now bigger we tore down the wall and extended the shower to make it a little more roomier. Behind the wall is the kids bathroom and it had a long counter with double sinks so we just extended our shower which got rid of one of the sinks and part of the counter. There is still plenty of counter space in the other bathroom and really I didn't think two sinks was necessary so its a win win! The other bathroom looks fab as well my hub hung up the mirror and accessories last night. So we are getting there slowly but surely...

.... there will be lots more to come.

2nd (long potty post...skip if you could care less about a 3 yr olds #1 and #2)

My child is awesome as always.... and decided that is was time to be potty trained (I haven't been pushing it because I tried back in the day and it backfired on me so I was letting him decide when was time) A couple weeks ago he was holding himself saying he had to go pee pee which I thought was odd since he was in a diaper and usually didn't make the announcement. So I threw out...well you can go pee pee on the potty if you want to try. To my astonishment he was all gung ho about it....and sure enough he went. He was all excited about it and so that was that....from then on out he was a peeing on the potty machine. The number 2age was a issue... for a couple weeks because the week he started peeing he had a little plugged up issue (which by the way was awful...poor little guy was in pain.... and giving him suppositories...I won't even go there) So anyways we were just happy the little man could go....so going in the pull up was fine and dandy with us. The issue now has corrected itself (keeping fingers crossed) So two days ago Michael was wearing some buzz undies and I told him that they were not like his pull ups and he couldn't poop on buzz or he wouldn't be happy (theres a big buzz on the butt) So anyways I think the poor guy was holding it in all day so he wouldn't make buzz mad (my bad... I almost caused the child to be constipated again) He complained later that his bum hurt so I told him we could go get a pull up on or he could try the toilet. He chose the toilet and sure enough low and behold he went... and the next day went twice....and today went once. He's pretty much obsessed with going.... YAY! How easy was that? Lets hope he keeps it up :)

So this is what diapers have become at our household.... a lovely accessory.... they're wonderful for the winter months they keep your head, ears, and chin warm.... just ask Michael

ps. some cute Michael quotes:

me "why is baby sister kicking me?" michael "baby sister is kicking you because she loves you"

name for his baby sister "coke" (don't ask me where he got that we don't drink coke I don't even know if he knows there is a drink coke....but that is what he's naming her)

michael "your bellys big because your a mommy"

me, "your cute" michael ,"ya" me, "am I cute?" michael, "no your a mommy" me, "mommies can't be cute?" michael, "no mommies and daddies aren't cute just little boys are cute" me, "ok am I pretty?" michael, "ya" (good to hear from my 3 yr old)

yesterday grocery shopping he was in the carts with the car on the front and apparently we had just gone to the store so he could drive around because every time I stopped to get something he'd get mad so at one point I stopped and was talking to Kev on the phone and all a sudden I see him getting out and he doesn't look happy with me... he walks toward me and says " What is going on here"

he's obsessed with playing games lately and afterwards when he wins "I win you lose" and then he stands with his hands up in the air all victorious....and then he comes over and says "its ok you can win next time" (but yet if you do win he is all sorts of drama)

I can't remember what I was doing or what was said but I wasn't happy about something and michael said " relax mama"

"is baby sister coming yet?"

"when baby sister comes I'm going to tickle her...and then I'm going to beat her up" (oh joy)

He cracks me up daily...what a fun little guy!

We're still here...

Hello blogging world....did you even know I still existed?

Lots has been going on, so here is a brief update.....

1. We moved... YAY we finally sold our house and bought a cute brown brick rambler in Sandy that I just love to pieces! I always say people probably think I'm crazy because its my dream house...I just love older homes, especially brick ones... and ramblers.... and you know me and brown ;) .... so sure enough its just what I wanted :) Its got a lot of projects to update it a little (we're talking about some massive wallpaper removelage, new carpet, new bathrooms (they were disgusting), etc. ) So we have our work cut out for us but its all good. We are currently living in one part of the home... which is now our bedroom/family room/kitchen.... its pretty awesome nothing like laying in bed when you have visitors over sitting on the couch. The projects are coming along nicely so just a matter of time before my home will be restored. I'll post before and after pics when we're done.

2. Michael turned 3!! What??? Where did my baby go? He is getting so big I can't believe it. He is so hilarious...he's got the funniest personality! He asks questions all day long...and I mean all day long....whats this? why you do that? where are we going? etc. Its really cute! Everytime you say something to him he says " what did you just say?" or "why you say that?" He loves to play with cars so for his 3rd birthday party we did a car theme... he loved that! I can't believe how much fun a 3 year old can be... we have so much fun! Just last night he was cracking me up and Kev was getting all bugged with us and so we'd go silent and then when me and michael looked at each other we'd both start busting up again! He's such a fun little tyke!

3. ITS A GIRL! (oh what I never told you I was pregnant) ya ps. I'm pregnant! We kept it on the dl for a long time actually I kept it on the dl until we knew what we were having (which was around 20 weeks) so anyways all is going well... Her due date is March 21st! Michael called it, I kept asking him if he wanted a baby sister or brother and he was determined it was a baby sister and would get mad if you said otherwise. Anyways we are very excited and look forward to our new addition!

Thats it for now :)

Poor Sick Baby!

We had a little Michael scare today.... the little guy was fine all morning and then at lunchtime when he sat down to eat with my sister he was acting funny. She called me down and Michael was really acting weird like he was going to pass out so I grabbed him and realized he was burning up. I took his temperature and it was up to 103!!! I FREAKED! Isn't 103 like medical emergency? I jumped in the car and raced him over to the insta-care... I guess 103 wasn't an emergency for them because they didn't seem too rushed...maybe it my frazzled state that had me thinking everyone was in slow motion! Anyways turns out he may have an ear infection they gave him some tylenol to lower his fever and an antibiotic.

So... he's all good... phewww.... what a relief!!

This is a momentous day...

Michael went to nursery all by himself today....not a peep out of him! It just took us 14 months to get to this point! :)

ps. Is it bad that I was sad he didn't care if we were there? I missed hanging with the little tykes!

Ems Frozen Delights...I should open a shop

This is the greatest investment ever (ok I haven't invested in one myself yet...I've just stolen my dads that was collecting dust in his pantry) Seriously with all this Yogurt Stop and Spoon Me craze going around I thought I'm totally going to making my own frozen yogurt. What I have discovered is nothing but sheer bliss...seriously...it is soooo tasty and with the cost of what you could buy one little cup full you can make a whole batch (ok I haven't ever actually gone and bought any at those places so don't know the price but I can imagine its probably pricey) Anyways it is soooo super easy too! Like I mean super easy... I just keep the freezer bowl in the freezer at all times and when I want some frozen yogurt throw a few ingredients in and turn it on and in 20 min I've got a delicious frozen treat! I even stocked up on Sunflower markets excellent deal of 99 cent raspberries and blueberries and now have a freezer full of berries to put on top.... yummy!

here's the recipe I have been using and have been really pleased with though I haven't tried another one yet because this is soo good!

Black Cherry Frozen Yogurt ( I don't add the cherries so technically just plain frozen yogurt)

2 egg whites
2/3 cup sugar (castor or superfine, if you have it) ( I've just been using regular sugar since thats what I have on hand)
3 1/2 cups nonfat yogurt (500 grams)(I use the Mountain High nonfat vanilla or I just used the raspberry the other day and that was tasty)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chopped frozen sweet cherries and chocolate chips (I omit this and just add my berries and crushed grahams to the top afterward) (you could add whatever you wanted in just make sure you look at your instructions for your icecream maker to know when to add it)

Whisk vanilla into yogurt until it is smooth and set aside.
Beat egg whites until frothy, add sugar gradually and continue beating at medium-high speed until you have soft peaks, 4-5 minutes. Do not overbeat.
Fold yogurt into egg whites in 4 additions, making sure it is well incorporated. Fold in cherries and chocolate chips and pour mixture into your ice cream maker. Freeze as directed and store inan airtight container in the freezer if you are not going to eat it right away.
Serves 6
recipe courtesy of bakingbites.com

Easy as that 4 ingredients (5 if you add something in) and you can enjoy some sweet deliciousness! I'm honestly loving it!

ps. If you don't want to invest and want to try out some of this frozen delicacy then come on over to my house... I'll hook ya up

ps. dad if you read this... I refuse to return it so don't even ask! :)
