We're still here...

Hello blogging world....did you even know I still existed?

Lots has been going on, so here is a brief update.....

1. We moved... YAY we finally sold our house and bought a cute brown brick rambler in Sandy that I just love to pieces! I always say people probably think I'm crazy because its my dream house...I just love older homes, especially brick ones... and ramblers.... and you know me and brown ;) .... so sure enough its just what I wanted :) Its got a lot of projects to update it a little (we're talking about some massive wallpaper removelage, new carpet, new bathrooms (they were disgusting), etc. ) So we have our work cut out for us but its all good. We are currently living in one part of the home... which is now our bedroom/family room/kitchen.... its pretty awesome nothing like laying in bed when you have visitors over sitting on the couch. The projects are coming along nicely so just a matter of time before my home will be restored. I'll post before and after pics when we're done.

2. Michael turned 3!! What??? Where did my baby go? He is getting so big I can't believe it. He is so hilarious...he's got the funniest personality! He asks questions all day long...and I mean all day long....whats this? why you do that? where are we going? etc. Its really cute! Everytime you say something to him he says " what did you just say?" or "why you say that?" He loves to play with cars so for his 3rd birthday party we did a car theme... he loved that! I can't believe how much fun a 3 year old can be... we have so much fun! Just last night he was cracking me up and Kev was getting all bugged with us and so we'd go silent and then when me and michael looked at each other we'd both start busting up again! He's such a fun little tyke!

3. ITS A GIRL! (oh what I never told you I was pregnant) ya ps. I'm pregnant! We kept it on the dl for a long time actually I kept it on the dl until we knew what we were having (which was around 20 weeks) so anyways all is going well... Her due date is March 21st! Michael called it, I kept asking him if he wanted a baby sister or brother and he was determined it was a baby sister and would get mad if you said otherwise. Anyways we are very excited and look forward to our new addition!

Thats it for now :)

Poor Sick Baby!

We had a little Michael scare today.... the little guy was fine all morning and then at lunchtime when he sat down to eat with my sister he was acting funny. She called me down and Michael was really acting weird like he was going to pass out so I grabbed him and realized he was burning up. I took his temperature and it was up to 103!!! I FREAKED! Isn't 103 like medical emergency? I jumped in the car and raced him over to the insta-care... I guess 103 wasn't an emergency for them because they didn't seem too rushed...maybe it my frazzled state that had me thinking everyone was in slow motion! Anyways turns out he may have an ear infection they gave him some tylenol to lower his fever and an antibiotic.

So... he's all good... phewww.... what a relief!!

This is a momentous day...

Michael went to nursery all by himself today....not a peep out of him! It just took us 14 months to get to this point! :)

ps. Is it bad that I was sad he didn't care if we were there? I missed hanging with the little tykes!

Ems Frozen Delights...I should open a shop

This is the greatest investment ever (ok I haven't invested in one myself yet...I've just stolen my dads that was collecting dust in his pantry) Seriously with all this Yogurt Stop and Spoon Me craze going around I thought I'm totally going to making my own frozen yogurt. What I have discovered is nothing but sheer bliss...seriously...it is soooo tasty and with the cost of what you could buy one little cup full you can make a whole batch (ok I haven't ever actually gone and bought any at those places so don't know the price but I can imagine its probably pricey) Anyways it is soooo super easy too! Like I mean super easy... I just keep the freezer bowl in the freezer at all times and when I want some frozen yogurt throw a few ingredients in and turn it on and in 20 min I've got a delicious frozen treat! I even stocked up on Sunflower markets excellent deal of 99 cent raspberries and blueberries and now have a freezer full of berries to put on top.... yummy!

here's the recipe I have been using and have been really pleased with though I haven't tried another one yet because this is soo good!

Black Cherry Frozen Yogurt ( I don't add the cherries so technically just plain frozen yogurt)

2 egg whites
2/3 cup sugar (castor or superfine, if you have it) ( I've just been using regular sugar since thats what I have on hand)
3 1/2 cups nonfat yogurt (500 grams)(I use the Mountain High nonfat vanilla or I just used the raspberry the other day and that was tasty)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chopped frozen sweet cherries and chocolate chips (I omit this and just add my berries and crushed grahams to the top afterward) (you could add whatever you wanted in just make sure you look at your instructions for your icecream maker to know when to add it)

Whisk vanilla into yogurt until it is smooth and set aside.
Beat egg whites until frothy, add sugar gradually and continue beating at medium-high speed until you have soft peaks, 4-5 minutes. Do not overbeat.
Fold yogurt into egg whites in 4 additions, making sure it is well incorporated. Fold in cherries and chocolate chips and pour mixture into your ice cream maker. Freeze as directed and store inan airtight container in the freezer if you are not going to eat it right away.
Serves 6
recipe courtesy of bakingbites.com

Easy as that 4 ingredients (5 if you add something in) and you can enjoy some sweet deliciousness! I'm honestly loving it!

ps. If you don't want to invest and want to try out some of this frozen delicacy then come on over to my house... I'll hook ya up

ps. dad if you read this... I refuse to return it so don't even ask! :)

Hitting up St. George any time soon...

a must stop is Richshaw Asian Gourmet! It honestly is the tastiest Asian food I ever have partakin in! Its a total must everytime we come down here... and we are on our way to trying everything on the menu and everything we have tried so far has been fabulous! (though the curry chicken was a little on the curry side for my liking) The Lo Mein noodles are UNBELIEVABLE.... I'm serious...they are so dang good! What bugs me about other chinese food places is that you have to order a variety of dishes to get a good mix and everything is seperate big dishes. This place you order a meal and get soup or salad (there egg drop soup is tasty... and kevy likes there salad dressing); then either rice or noodles (like previously mentioned noodles are fab. and the fried rice is tasty as well...haven't tried the other 2 kinds of rice they have); and then your main dish (orange chicken, sesame chicken, teryaki chicken, etc.) and a cookie (which we call the finger nail cookies...if you go you'll see why... don't fret though they are good)

Anyways just thought I'd share this piece of deliciousness with you all! ( kev theatened that if I spread the good news too much and next time we go he has to wait he'll be real mad...I told him do not fret I have like 2 people that look at my blog :) he has nothing to worry about!)

ps. I should be getting paid for this post :)

I've done something very bad.....

I introduced my son to cinnamon toast.....

and he's addicted!! Oh dear!

So every morning Michael wants a bowl of cereal for breakfast....he picks his favorite cereal and then he tells me I need to have a bowl too so he grabs the cereal he knows I like....
So we sit and eat our cereal and I realize something is wrong...
I'm munching a bowl of colorful fruit loops and he's eating a bowl of frosted mini wheats.

Now shouldn't it be the other way around?

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

with Michael it was so easy.
never a problem.
nothing went wrong.
there was worry, of course.
lots of worrying.
but it was smooth sailing.
I think I took it for granted.
actually I know I did.

Once. was hard. Twice. hurts.

I'll never take it for granted again.

LiTtLe BiT oF RaNdOmNeSs

I have been slacker once again...always behind on my blogging! I can't help it though when I get on and find myself reading all these amazing blogs I've been finding lately about crafting, cooking, and food storage.

Ps. Lately I've become superly concerned about the fact that I have 0 food storage...nadda, nothing.... well I guess except for the pasta I stocked up on yesterday that was on sale at Smiths for like 30 cents...sweet deal! So I'm seriously stressing.... I've been putting it off thinking, my next home will be bigger and I'll hopefully have a storage room so I'll wait! But that is it... I can't wait any more so I will be sticking food storage in every nook and cranny I can find! Food storage here I come!!!!! now where to begin??

So I'm totally in a crafting mood lately.... and I can't wait....I've got some crafty ideas up my sleeve....stay tuned!

So I have my sweet camera I got for christmas.....and I still need to figure out how to use it....I suck!

Sweetest grocery shopping website.....its honestly the greatest grocerysmarts.com.... enter in passport: abc4 (for utah) and you choose your grocery store. They take the ads for the week and rate with stars the best deals and even couple them up with coupons from the sundays paper and online coupons!! Its awesome....example....this week south beach diet bars, triscuits, and wheat thins were 50 cents! I went today and spent 21 dollars on grocerys....my savings was $30! I saved more then I spent....so $51 dollars in grocerys for $21! who doesn't like saving some extra cash!

has anyone tried these?

sweet, delicious skittles crazy cores....they are double flavor....one flavor on the outside another on the inside! Lets just say Kev and I (Michael too....but he doesn't count since he'd eat pooh if it was sugar coated) are HUGE fans! These are a delicious addition to the skittles family!

Speaking of treats....I love Easter for many reasons but one large reason is the goodies! I partook of one of these bad boys the other day....

and why is it that these.....
are a billion times better then regular Reeses.... I don't even like regular Reeses...but these are one tasty treat!
YUM.... I think I know where to start on my food storage! ;)

Michael Language Quiz:

Do you know what the following words mean:
Lulu
Huhbob
Juahkin
Iya
Uppies
Momily

Lulu= water...don't know where he came up with it but he's been calling water lulu forever and still continues to though he can say water

huhbob= usually paired with patwick....and its Spongebob and Patrick one of his favorite shows!

Juahkin= lightning mcqueen from the movie cars I love how he says it its so cute...I don't know if my spellin did it justice...pronounce it like your spanish :)

Iya= elephant as previously mentioned.... I think it stemmed from ela

Uppies= up or down....if your holding him he says uppies to get down and if he wants up he says uppies to get up! This word was stolen from Michaels friend Brixton and he uses it all the time!

Momily= mixture of Mom and Emily.... he went through a phase of calling me emly and then it morphed into momily

Just this past week I feel like Michael is getting bigger by the minute. He's always been a pretty good talker but this week he's been throwing out sentences like " what ya got momma? Lulu?" as in asking a question and then answering it in question form.

He talks in 3rd person.... "Michael do it", "Michael blow bubbles", "Michaels hungy"

If you say see ya to him he says back "see ya wouldn't be ya" as in "see ya wouldn't want to be ya" or sometimes you get a "peace out" with one finger up in the air

When you tuck him in and say love you he whispers "yuv you"

When you ask Michael if he had good dreams he says " ya...about daisy" daisy is his grandmas dog and he's obsessed with it so we always say have good dreams about daisy!

When he's mad at you or doesn't want to do something he says "GOODBYE" like today when I was dragging him to the bath he was shouting "GOODBYE....GOODBYE MOMMA"

He's a huge Momma's boy....we went through a phase a while back but its nothing like this.....HE'S OBSESSED! I leave the room for a minute...."where momma go?" "Momma come back"

He can count to 13.... but then skips to 18 then 20

To this day absolutely hates getting his diaper changed....after 2 years of this you think he'd be over it....but immediatly when I say lets change your diaper he starts yelling "owie owie owie" and then cries and fights the whole time you change him!

The poor little guys got sleep apnea and has the biggest tonsils ever....I don't know how he even swallows! So next week he's going to the ENT doctor and he'll be getting them out soon :(

Loves waffles....and he says it so cute... so as of lately I have to keep a batch of waffle mix in the fridge!

Loves to make the waffle mix or help me cook! He also loves to tell you about it afterwards.... like how he "stir stir stirred" or "egg" (he loves to break the eggs" and then "cook"

He has his way of doing things....if he wants to do it or if he wants mommy to do it and Kevin does it he freaks! And we have to put it back and do it his way and then he's fine!

Absolutely dislikes nursery and refuses to let us leave him... I guess he likes it if we are there playing with him!

He likes the songs in nursery and after every song he claps and shouts "YAY"

And our favorite is when you sing Do as I'm doing and he does all the actions and when you get to the part "high and low I can do it fast or slow".....Michael sings "slow" all drama like...its hilarious! Thats the only word he sings!

Has a dinosaur puzzle and he used to get so frustrated with it and now he is a champ and does it over and over and over again with no help!

Knows most colors!

He's just getting so big and growing up so much....I love my little munchkin!

12/30 Swimming
Me trying to be the photographer that I am not but aspire to be took this shot of Michael in the pool and thought it turned out pretty dang sweet!

12/31
This is how Michael welcomed in the new year chomping a doughnut...if you notice on the counter in the background its 11:59.12.... shortly after this moment my sister kissed him for her new years kiss and he yelled at her!! ha ha classic
For New Years we went to the St. George First Night and wandered around for a while...but it was boring and freezing so shortly before midnight we went home and hung and watched the ball drop!

Kenyon and Tre took a midnight swim on New Years Eve....it was freezing outside..but the pool was toasty

We had such a good time hanging out with our nephew Tre... He's super fun and funny and he is so good with Michael...its so cute! We Love you Tre!

1/3
The Wild Life Museum in St. George...
Michael has a little attitude problem at times and when we first arrived at the Museum you enter into there gift shop. So I took Michael over and we were looking at these little figurines of animals...ya bad idea! I let him old an Iya (elephant) and then I took it from him to put back and he wanted to hold it again and I told him no! Soooo he freaked out and went and over and knocked a bunch of the figurines to the floor! Luckily only one broke so we only had to fork out 7.50 for some dumb little monkey! So it could have been worse! But what ticked me off even more was the way the workers handled it..... ewww it left me fuming!

kissing a bear...I was shocked he actually did it
playing in the tree fort with cousin Tre

Don't they look like there having fun

We went to Mesquite for the evening to the buffet at Eureka...I enjoyed it much...but the others were not fans! What can I say I had a plate full of crab...who wouldn't be happy!

Zoo Lights 12/27

We went to Zoo Lights for the first time... and in spite of the cold we loved it!!

I wished I could have been in Michaels shoes....all bundled up and warm

afterwards his little hands were freezing so I told him he could wear my gloves....he thought he was pretty cool with his monster hands and didn't take them off til we got home

I almost forgot one of my favorite Christmas time pics! This is Michael posing by his little christmas tree in his room! He loves his tree...each year he gets a new ornament for it...he's got elmo and cookie monster and now this year he got a Mater (Cars) ornament! He looks so stinkin cute cheesing in his Mater Jammies!

ps. He is actually in the bath....does anyone else have issues with a two year old hating the bath? ...it is a constant battle!

me being the lame-o that I am realized that I have a nice camera now and when I used my brain I realized the pics our probably to big to put on the blog hence the reason it wasn't working! So my cute little brover should me how to resize them and we are good as gold now! My blogging will continue! :)

He loves elephants and he calls them Iya's (It stemed from ela....don't ask me how) anyways so he calls it Iya show and the way he says it sounds like a$$hole...its kindof funny... not so much when he's yelling it in church or at the store though!

This is his how excited he got when we put the show in....and he saw the Iya!
